Royal Portrush Golf Club

Royal Portrush Golf Club is home to one of the best and most challenging links golf course in the world, the Dunluce Links, and the hidden gem, the Valley Links. Portrush is a members club which welcomes visitors all year round to face the challenges of its courses and to brave the testing conditions.

Royal Portrush was founded in 1888 and has hosted many championships, such as the first Open Championship ever held in Ireland in 1951. Royal Portrush has hosted the Senior British Open 1995-1999, The Amateur Championship in 1993 & 2014, The Irish Open 2012 and most recently, The Open Championship 2019.

The Dunluce Links at Royal Portrush Golf Club ranks amongst the world’s greatest courses. Testing rough and rolling greens, combined with the exciting weather of the roaring North Atlantic makes this course an admirable test for even the most seasoned golf aficionado. Many golfers have portrayed Royal Portrush Golf Club – Dunluce Links as one of the most challenging and rewarding courses in the world. The course held the hugely successful Open Championship in 2019, with Irish man Shane Lowry famously capturing his first Major title. This was one of the most memorable Open Championships ever played and the course was a sell out for the tournament. Royal Portrush looks forward to welcoming it back in the near future.

The Valley, the second course in the Royal Portrush golf resort, also offers as stiff challenge. It hosts the Causeway Coast Amateur Tournament with other local courses, the biggest amateur tournament in the world.

Consistently ranked in the Top Ten courses in the World – Royal Portrush Golf Club is a fantastic golf destination and what better way to compliment your Ireland golf vacation than a round on of one of the finest and most famous golf courses in the World.

Royal Portrush will again host the greatest tournament in golf, The Open, in 2025. The event promises to be one of the most well-attended in Open history, and if it is as successful as the 2019 Open, golf fans are in for a special treat.
